The Germaphobe Collection

The ‘Germaphobe Collection’ is a collection based on my response to my fear of germs (germaphobia). This collection is very personal to me, having OCD myself, I wanted the collection to be approached sensitively but also in a creative way, using the collection as a way of provoking awareness through the medium of knitting. The collection is my response to a brief set by Hallmark and focuses on the microscopic world of germs and putting things in order as well as overcoming personal challenge.

 

My collection consists of sensory and interactive knitted elements which I have done to represent my cleaning rituals, as well as encouraging me to touch the ‘germs’ I have made which I normally find scary.
